    Hey all,

On the urging of a good friend, I found this board, and it is just the type of place I have been looking for.

Live in the Socialist paradise that is Portland, but I hail from the bigger SSR of Chicago,IL.

I am a life member of the NRA for whatever its worth lately, life member of the VFW, and at one time collected WW2 vintage rifles, but times are tough, and I had to part with the lesser examples, but I still have a Garand, a 03 Springfield, and a few others. I've been a member of AK47.net, FALfiles, etc. and in the end they all degenerated into flame wars and lame converstaion, and I figured that if I stuck to my own neck of the woods, at least we'd have more to talk about then the virtues of piston vs. gas impingement or some other thing.

I love the Estacada area, and have been shooting at Memaloose for about 7 years. What I loved was seeing that this board organized cleanups there, something I wanted to do myself (And did. You should have seen the rangers at the station when I packed out all the trash I picked up :) ) I am leaning towards trying to find a way to set down roots there one day. Unless the pinheads in this state ruin it too.

I hope to meet some like minded folks, set up shoots, and hopefully find a good Smith and Wesson smith to look over what I believe to be a real find.

I've met so many great people over the years on my trips up to the quarry, I have to wonder if any of them are on this board.

Anyways, the best people I've met tend to be "people of the gun", and I hope to be an asset in the future.

Welcome to NWFA! I know a number of people on this board frequent Memaloose. If you look at the thread about the spot, some of the people describe what they drive.
