Change is a natural part of evolution. There are indeed those that are unable, or unwilling to adapt to change. History shows that in those cases the species ceases to survive and is replaced by another more adaptable species. I would posit that those who refuse to learn from history run the risk of extinction more than those who fail to "evolve", which oftentimes is devolution in disguise.
