Maybe my good luck has something to do with appearances (profiling).

I'm white, have always had very short hair, am well-groomed (out of the house), and drive late-model, clean vehicles.

I never have problems with Policemen.

I also have a 1st amendment right and can give up my 5th amendment right...

I was doing 65, he clocked me doing 65, sounds pretty fair and square to me... And any officer who is that sneaky and selective with I/O radar is very likely to have his calibrations up to snuff.

My GPS evidence combined with his sketchy story would have hosed him in court.

So far my strategy is working, who are you to question it?

I'm surprised you're not angry that he disarmed me...

You are more than welcome to give up what ever rights you so choose.

Your GPS evidence would have no place in court unless certified by an expert and accepted by the IRLJ.

The officer does not calibrate a SMD, the department does. (Note: the city I live in all of their radar are 15 months overdue for a calibration, yet the officer tests before and after the stop)

Your strategy will work until you have approximately 3 warnings in the system, after that you will get tickets. And probably sooner as revenue is needed.

As far as disarming. 'Officer Safety' is an established protocol by the courts.
