New Portland Earthquake Readiness Radio Show.

Because of concern about the prediction by local scientists that Portland is overdue for a major earthquake, the Portland Preparedness Center and KXL 101.1 FM are starting a new and unique radio show tomorrow night *(Saturday March 16 2013).

It’ll be called “The Wise Prepper Show” and will be hosted by Michael Knight – also known as “Dr Prepper” – and Joshua Patterson from The Portland Preparedness Center.

Knight says since opening their Portland store in 2010 hundreds of people have been quietly putting together 72-hr emergency supplies for themselves and their families.

But, he says, “trying to get what you need after the event is just going to be far too late, so we need to reach out to the entire city to help the willing be well prepared ahead of time.”

The Wise Prepper Show will focus on emergency essentials and will air on Saturday nights between 8pm and 9pm on KXL 101.1 FM.

Long Time Listener, First Time Caller!
As we have seen with 22LR ammo retail supplies can disappear overnight and follow-up orders can overwhelm production capacity.
My personal experience dates back to the Cuban Missile Crisis and the LA riots. Suburban grocery stores were stripped bare in hours and gun stores were as empty as they are today, all within hours.
Because the riots were localized suppliers, transport and production was not affected and the stores were re-stocked from out of area suppliers, that may not happen if fuel prices skyrocket beyond what the market can bear (insert Obama quote here)
