Are you a Lib or conservative?

    :D:D:D

If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
(Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

Conservatives believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is April 15.”

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it to his friends.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

Yay for smug assumptions of moral superiority.

I think Ambrose Bierce said it best in his "Devil's Dictionary"

"Convervative (noun)- A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others."

Ya know, just because "Just Jim" believes something does not make it true. He loves to state what he imagines other people think, and he hates to be bothered with facts or contrary views. He also has stated clearly that he thinks education is a mistake, as it produces Liberals. In other words, he does not necessarily even know what he is talking about; but he has a lot of free time to say it.........................elsullo

What bothers me is that they're using the classic definition of conservative against the modern definition of liberal.

If it was modern for both there'd be no difference, and if it were the classic for both it would only have mentioned the welfare and healthcare.

I think this is spot on.

Our politics today are being driven by extremism on both sides of the isle. The moderates who would meet in the middle to get work done through compromise are being sacrificed to intolerance. Unfortunately this creates policy that is polarized and acceptable only to an extreme minority be it liberal or conservative.

My current measure of good representation is when it pisses off both Republicans and Democrats at the same time.

My problem with "comprimise" is that usually that means one side gives in on some more "pork" for the other side. So then that politician gets to go back to his state and say "look what I got you, vote for me".

Ought to be clear as day you don't bother me :bluelaugh::bluelaugh: The truth bothers the heck out of you though. Notice it started with guns and the liberal view of them. Also notice you try to attack me rather than run an opposeing view that tells us what liberals and conservative think.

You are also mistaken that I don't think people should be educated. Education is the key to a free world. However todays indoctrination in our schools leads to socialism, your statements have proven that over and over. Try looking at gun control and democrat socialist run Chicago or New York or....:bluelaugh::bluelaugh::bluelaugh:

Nahhh just keep being you :bluelaugh::bluelaugh:

    jj

Edited to add, I do have alot of free time.:D:D and enjoy it :bluelaugh::bluelaugh:

I thimk it was Jesse ventura who suggested we get rid of political parties. Then we the people would be forced to pay attention to what individual officials and candidates are doing and saying, an not simply pull a lever for a party while thinking that everyone in that particular party represents them.

Along with true election reform, this would allow more independent thinkers and people who really want to represent the people to take office.

Your confusion is, the party that runs both parties is the Progressives. True conservatives can't be found in todays government. I think they were removed as the progressives were removing religion from our lives.:D:D

:bluelaugh::bluelaugh: Never work. Too many sheeple that need to be told how and what to think. Well maybe it would work if we had real education in our schools.

Unfortunately all too true, but this is self correcting. Those who trade short-term pork for policy are stepping over dollars to pick up dimes. Those who give up the right to shape law for a few dimes in their pocket (district) fail to represent their constituents, unless their constituents care more about a few bucks than the rules that effect their jobs, health, homes, etc.... After living unsatisfied under someone else's rules, they will spend plenty of dollars to lobby for a law that they could have participated in shaping in the first place.

Medicare's something I pay for that I'll never get to use. The taxes I pay go toward the current benefits of people who don't work anymore, but instead sit around eating garbage, getting diabetes, and overutilizing medical services. They're getting way more back than they ever paid for, and my generation's going to be left holding the bag.

Really, Medicare recipients are the ultimate socialist welfare queens.

As far as the sharpness of tacks is concerned, I recommend you read this article. It might shed some light on why you're so confident about your political beliefs.
