This is an excerpt from a discussion I had on a very liberal friends facebook page. It shows how they really think and what they really think of us. Chris is not on my friends list anymore, because he is a complete tvvat and didnt want to argue with a lowly knuckle dragging libertarian so he took his ball and went home. I got into a couple of arguments with this guy after the Newtown incident. He considers himself an 'Alaska liberal'...whatever that means. My guess is that he sees himself as a rugged individualist (what liberal doesnt) because he is a far leftist that also happens to have guns. He is the typical elitist lib with the mentality of 'I got mine, and I can handle it...screw the rest of you'. He would say 'ive built 9 or 10 ARs for friends' and 'they were just for bubblegums and giggles and fun' and 'no one really needs one'......and would go on and on how each and every type of AR is juuuuust the wrong type of tool for every use I would throw out. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the following exchange pictured below. Marvel at the contempt for the 2nd amendment from this 'gun owner' The big chub he's getting at the idea of 'the rest of America taking our TOYS away. Oh yea....if I can find the conversation...he mentioned has a CHL (which he never uses to carry, because he says it isnt nessessary anywhere) and he thought it was illegal to carry concealed anywhere children are, like schools and malls. This all coming from a well educated (thats a contradiction in terms these days) liberal. If you cannot see the screenshot below let me know and I can post the text of the conversation... The left quite often exposes its raging elitism through its odious habit of asking why anyone would need the things that it doesn't like, from guns to big homes to monster trucks.

The implication is that if the elitists don't want whatever it is, then no one should be allowed to have it — except, of course, it's fine for the elitists themselves to live in energy-sucking mansions, hire armed bodyguards and drive around in gas-guzzling limousines and SUVs.

Believe me, this so called 'gun enthusiast' lib would hear none of it. Ill have to dig up the other conversations with him. Complete pig. And it was the same oral feces with each and every lib i personally engaged on Facebook. The one beauty of a modern convenience like Facebook is that you can personally attack and argue with the very imbeciles that elect people like Feinstein and Obama and put them in office. I only hope sometime soon I can actually spit in their face. Some of them I will get the chance soon.

I voted for Obama because I didn't want a homophobe in office. I knew that the possibility of him being hard on guns was there, I just had other factors that played into my decision than guns. And no, that guy is an ***. Unfriend people like that, just let them live in their own circle. No need arguing with them.

Not all are but Some also may be plants or moles, shills who do this for Fun or profit-base pay and a per post payment plan, many make no sence at all or flip back and forth. I wonder about Chris Nolke. I agree with him on one point, He does not need a gun. Mentally unstable or a Player?

Their handlers will send them to this thread really fast. Watch, you will see who they are on this board. Or they'll stay away since I've called them out.

Nothing will change an antis mind... Conservative or Liberal. A lot of name calling on both sides does nothing for any of us. I'm a Left leaning registered Independent that has friends on both sides of the fence. I refuse to get into a fight with the antis. All it does is make me mad and conversations get personal. I'd rather it not get to any of that. I personally don't have time for it. If they want to have intelligent debate then I am game... but that rarely happens.

If people cannot understand the intent of the Second Amendment than I am truly saddened that they continue to rail against the building blocks of our great Nation. It's a slap in the face to anyone that has sacrificed themselves by defending our freedoms. I will not dishonor my families generations of service to this country so easily. I will not bow to skewed public interest in trade for my security. I will not stand down and watch our rights be tread upon by a small segment of society that tends to impose their "perfect society" on the masses.

Keep your cool people. Don't let them get you worked up. Use your common sense. State facts. Don't spread hate. We will prevail.

What is there to defend? Your ex-friend Chris is an elitist idiot. Doesn't mean all gun-enthusiast liberals are. I know some conservatives who are pro gun-control, as long as you don't take away their hunting rifles.

Yes, people who are pro gun control are more likely to be liberals, but they're not the only ones by any stretch (see Mitt Romney and Ronald Reagan.) And there are plenty of liberals (yes, including ones who self-identify as "socialists",) who are as rabidly pro-gun-rights as anyone.

The identification of parties is where the problem exist. I am registered however belong to no parties, as I it as just plain dumb to belong to any party unless you believe in them 100%, and if not whats the point?
I can freely be a non-party conservative and my loyalty is to the United States of America, not some group of political yahoos who flip flop more then pancake chefs at IHOP. Hey though if being part a a group helps you all the power to you. I just see the constitution and the founding fathers as the only group I need to consider.

Yeah, I used to go by that philosophy - I'd switch parties every few years just to vote in the primary for the candidate I liked most, but decided that it would be more useful to work within one of the big parties to bring it more in alignment with my views. Doesn't mean I support every member of that part for every office of course, but it is useful to have the "inside line" to the local-level party leaders, and be present to try to soften the blow of stances I don't agree with.

The article is a good one, I think however in a home defense ammo type and velocity should be considered
when looking at a semiautomatic rifle. It is the reason that police have the ammo they use as stopping in a human is great. Stopping two apartments down from you nearly missing a 6 year old playing video game is not, I keep HP's in my 40 and a shotgun for my home as it will stay in the house. I agree with everything in the article but a key safety issue was not included that being velocity and ammo.
And how many people did the police hit in NYC when they shot at an armed person? Wasn't it something like 9? Yet in the mall here the citizen saw that he didn't have a clear background so he didn't shoot.
