LGBTQ? Hetero? Socialist? Conservative? Libertarian? Male? Female? Zeemale? White? Black? Brown? Yellow? Red? Short? Tall? Fat (most likely if you're American)? Rich? Poor? Middle class? Lazy? Industrious? Christian? Muslim? Scientologist? Buddhist? Atheist? Occultist? Citizen? Alien (legal or not)? Military veteran? Slack-jawed pansy? Land owner? Renter? Squatter?

NONE of it matters, you're ALL (including me) just proles, you're meat, you're ALL a commodity to be used, milked, and bilked. For your ENTIRE LIVES your (supposed) personal opinions and convictions have been assigned and force-fed to you (directly and indirectly) by a manipulated mass medi that's controlled international corporations (which include ALL the "churches" of ALL the faiths) who have no national or community loyalties, who are the the true power behind the corporate kleptocracy we all call... "government".

My experience in Big Green showed me that under fire in foxholes there aren't "labels", just fellow Americans.

Wake up, the time is drawing close.
And this right here is my position in most matters. We've been led by the nose into believing Dems or Cons or brown people or or or are the "Enemy" when it's a few really rich people who know they when we finally figure out we're all in the same sinking boat that they'll end up on top of a crane. As someone once said, "we must all hang together or we shall most assuredly hang separately."

I was going to make a comment but I couldn't even read all the way through the thread because of all the crap statements. Too many people are stuck on labels and how they just can't be for protecting gun rights if they have that certain "label". It's just plain stupid to alienate people like that... just like the NRA did with their stupid attitude of not giving an inch on gun rights no matter that any sane person could see that change was needed. You can tell it wasn't the NRA that won that battle and we are all paying for the loss.

Mike

I dont think the right necessarily alienates the liberal gun owner... its the 'liberals' who chose to bestow that title upon their gun club.

They didnt make "_______ gun club" They went out of their way to make i for liberals... while at the same time, its not a secret which orientation is ALWAYS on board with more gun control. Sure, we can poke fun at the irony here... but at the end of the day, while its nice to have another group of shooters around... their political choices are self-defeating when it comes to their club's purpose.

I always thought the NRA was known for giving too much up? Which was why the GOA billed itself as the "No compromise" group...

maybe Im wrong... BUT... either way... all WE have done is compromise. We have LOST more than we have ever gained and what was lost is NEVER returning. So when they come to us and want a compromise? We should tell them to stuff it. They get what they want anyway, but there is no sense in just handing it over without a fight.

There could have been deals made, but no... we just gave up more and more over the years... and still we are made out to be crazed violent racists... There is no winning here.

I too have become sick of the tribalism and radicalism that we see everywhere, hate and anger from all sides. If someone wants to actually support freedom and try to build some bridges then more power to them.

I've become much more libertarian as I get older, and by that I just mean "to each their own". We might agree on a lot of stuff, probably disagree on a lot, but as long as we don't tell each other how to live our lives we just might get along fine. Everyone has their own opinion. Everyone is quite certain that they are right. Everyone is just as likely wrong, on one thing or another. One thing I've learned in my life: beware the smug, self-righteous individual who has it all figured out. As humans we all have an incredible ability to truly believe whatever we really want to believe. Those smug, self-righteous folks are not the type I want to be around at all.

Yes, those on the right here can and do sometimes say inflammatory things that set the lefties off, but I find it amusing that those on the other side of the spectrum just can't help themselves either:

True, it seems that more and more we are being pushed into corners.

There is room for discussion & compromise on many issues... even issues like abortion and immigration.

Guns, however, is not one of them. I just cannot bring myself to support someone who wants to disarm me for any reason... even if I agree with them on other issues. The 2nd Amendment is a right. period. not subject to infringement... Basically, I cant trust a government that doesnt trust me to be armed. Disarmament never leads to anything good and productive.

In most cases, I am pro choice... BUT my right to own guns trumps your decision to kill your baby. Sorry.

I hate potheads, but dont think it should be illegal... BUT... my rights are more important than your legal weed...

So in order to preserve my right to arm myself I end up voting for people who still think weed is a gateway drug and probably dont even support contraception... in the end, rights are rights.

More and more I feel the push. My more liberal views seem less and less important when compared to the conservative issues I also support. I say push... because I feel like the left is pushing me to the right rather than the right pulling me away from the left.

The problem I always have with "liberals and guns" is compromise. All I ever hear is compromise, and "common sense gun laws". This all boils down to only one thing, I lose more rights. The idea being since there are a few criminals, I need to give up rights. It never ends. The big problem is even gun owners who believe in no gun control regularly vote in politicians who are all in on gun grabs. Then they scream when the people they elect do it. Amazing to watch. Even here I see it regularly. Gun owners who claim to want nothing to do with gun control yet lament that Hilary did not win???? As if she would not be pounding gun control now?? It's why WA and OR, and CA are the mess they are. Can't blame the politicians. People elect them over and over as they do this to us. Why should they change? Only thing a politician fears is losing. That is not happening yet, so we get more and more laws aimed only at the law abiding since the criminals of course could care less. <shrug>
The line "well I don't own an AR so no one should be able to". This works right up until they come for the gun you do own. Look at the gun owners here who were all in on 18-20 year olds not being able to own an AR? They with strait face said that was fine with them. Yet they wanted to own an AR of course. How long do they really think it takes till it's not just the 18-20 year olds they want to take that AR from? Amazing to watch this.

THIS !

I'm a flaming liberal Gun owner, I liberally buy as many as I can! :):D:p
I now and then will have someone at work ask "so how many guns do you own?" When I say, "I'm not sure" they look at me like I'm strange. :)
Best was long time back I was meeting with the owner of Bladetech about a job. I had no idea they were even located here until then. I walk in, small show room, so I am of course looking. Owner comes out, see's this, asked me, "so you a shooter, what do you carry?" The hesitation made us both laugh. I said "that's normally a question I avoid at a job interview" LOL

I met a Liberal Gun Owner Once...........he then voted and helped pass SB941 in Oregon.
Not being sarcastic, its the truth, and it is a reality we find distasteful to embrace, but the fact of the matter
is they are not the same.

Compromise = when parties give and take. We are done giving............! I'm not Rodney King, and no we can't all just get along. :p

Any estimates of the percent of liberal gun owners that join the military or support law enforcement. Or, come to the aid of law enforcement? Or, how many of those liberal/leftists/democrats that were born from surviving WWII ethnic or cultural groups are active supporters of the 2nd A? Love to see real democrats support the 2A. Not too many JFK democrats around these days?

With the size of the fireballs coming out of the muzzle on a couple of my rifles I could be called "flaming" as well... :D
If you are an active supporter of the 2 A and anti-gun control, well, welcome aboard! If not, maybe you need more time to think these issues through and study history.

Why must we have titles, and parties and other crap we attach to ourselves and them vociferously defend, why can't we be human, 'Muricans FIRSTLY? Why must I adhear to some party or group and then uphold it's standing? Are we not Americans first? Do we not all enjoy certain ordained rights the same? Why is it that some folks wish to TAKE away those rights? What benifit is there to be had if tbose rights are removed?
I vote to preserve my RIGHTS, and not some party affiliations designs!
Until we get past all this and become Americans firstly, lastly, and always, we will never find common ground to stand shoulder to shoulder with to fight for and defend what matters most of all, that that makes us the greatest country on this little planet! Titles and parties be dammed!
