So who's going to Douglas Ridge on July 16th for the Known Distance event? I just signed up this morning and I'm looking forward to it! Going to definitely bring the Garand, and if I can find time to get the trigger installed and the rifle sighted in, I might bring the AK.

We will likely run 3 full distance AQT's so figure 121-166 rounds. This is a qualification only - there's no instruction at this event. Safety brief and get right into AQT's (right after the shingle shot of course  ).

If you don't know what your comes ups are, I suggest you zero you rifle at 25 yards and use BSZ for stages 1-3 then dial in 3 MOA of elevation for stage 4. Take notes between stages so you can make more precise adjustments on your 2nd and 3rd AQT.

The firing line moves. You are welcome to bring a cart but we will park our rigs at the 400 yard line and hoof it between stages.

If you haven't shot past 200 yards, this is a great opportunity to ease your way into distance shooting.

I took a day of vacation to shoot this event, but life isn't coming together. <sigh>
Please plan another one-day event soon.

BTW, great article about Flipper. I was hoping to collect my mag from her on Thursday, but that will have to wait.

I'll be there! I planned for it the day after the 2 day shoot in March and have been looking forward to it ever since.

I'll be easy to pick out, cuz I'll probably be the only one there shooting a bolt action. :D

I'll be hiding in plain sight

Not too warm, not too cool.
Lots of nice folks
First, hit the steel plate, prone, one shot, cold bore, 250 yards. Under the leftmost "1"

One shooter at a time. The shoot boss says it's your turn, with his red bore rod.

Didn't get a pic of 100 or 200 yd lines. 300 yd line pics were ho-hum.
Got a pic of orygun at the 400 yd line with his 30.06

Many ARs, some fine Garands, an M1A, a Swiss K31, several modern bolt rifles.

Notice the sight dope on the AR stock. Find your battle sight zero, adjust for various ranges.

Who says 55g bullets can't shoot 400 yards? Out of a 16" carbine and a red dot I might add.

One cold bore shot at an 8" gong at 250 yards
