Let's talk about gun free zones for a mintue, 69 shot in Chicago last weekend

The entire city of Chicago is a gun free zone and leads the nation in gun deaths.

Something is definitely going on currently in major cities across America. As murders have had dramatic jumps this year in many of them. Take a look at this report on what the FBI is saying:

Some are claiming that this is a "Ferguson Effect", that is affecting how major police departments are behaving. Many of the cities now reporting dramatic rises have had major protests against their police departments regarding police brutality and shootings.

Could police departments really be pulling back, and feeling fearful that they will be condemned for aggressively going after criminals? And could this then be resulting in more inner city violent crime?

Could the police be in retreat?

Just think about this for a second, the population of victims share many common threads, they are other then white, they are poor, they live in a depressed area, and they are being prayed upon by a narrow percent of armed thugs taking advantage of the fact that the victims are largely unarmed and living in a Gun free Zone. The Powers that be have made sure the Sheeple are unable to effectively defend themselves, and they cannot/will not protect the sheeple. There is the proof, if any were needed, that the government cannot/will not take care of the governed!

A good and very scary point... Imagine if police departments in large cities begin to pull back even just say 10%.... Imagine how dangerous the streets then become? Imagine the level of violent crime?

Perhaps this is part the master plan... How else could one reasonably begin a massive enforcement of a gun free Amerika??? To stop crime, all Amerikans must be disarmed....

She's already promised she'd come after our guns... That must make Finestein all giddy...

The suspension of essential public services started some time ago, fewer officers are being added despite the growth of urban boundaries, fewer fire and rescue resources for a given population, Officers that retire are not being replaced, emergency management resources are focused more on Fed assistance then local agencies, the national guard being called out more and more! Look at Portland long and hard, that city is the litmus test of just how far you can stretch things before reaching the breaking point! Chicago and others like it have all slid over the cliff and are circling the drain! How long do people think it will take before the feds roll in and declare martial law? I bet the moment the first troupes arrive, Guns will be the first thing they come after!

The parts I find interesting is the stats:
* 50% up this year.
* In a population made up of nearly equal numbers of whites, blacks and Hispanics,
- 52 of the shooting victims are black,
- 11 Hispanic
- and one white.

This is numbers, these are facts...
What we can discern from these facts is there appears to be a culture of individuals without respect for life or liberty. This is a cultural problem, and has zero to do with firearms.

Nobody talks about that.

waguy52, You pretty much nailed it! A certain group of male subjects through what ever reason you wish to pick, has targeted a group of people for there own gain! I'm guessing its drugs and gangs co mingled and the killings are based on those two aspects more then any others. Victims all share two traits, they are poor, and they are unarmed! unfortunately, this is all too common in major urban areas! Look at L.A. Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, ect.....All have a major gang problem, and gangs have guns! The poor are unable to get guns, cant afford guns, so are left to there own defenses in areas where cops are corrupt, or just don't want to get shot, or don't want to shoot some one! Worse is a government that cares not for the problem, they just use it as a platform to insight fear and the need to control something that don't need controlling!

At times it seems like part of our culture has absolutely gone insane, and is killing for very little or no reason.

Murders are way up in Baltimore too this year. Just this week in Baltimore there was a funeral for a young man killed in a gang related shooting.

After the funeral service was over, the dead man's brother shot his own father in the stomach at the church, because his brother's obituary in the newspaper did not mention his name.

What on earth kind of reason is that for wanting to kill your own Dad? This man must really have some major screws loose inside his head.

Remember it's not the guns just the crap stains using them. I bet none of the guns used was legally owned or possessed by the shooters. Sounds like we need better criminal control in these festering liberal hell holes not more gun control.

Not to mention Detroit as well!!!! I used to love going up there for summer vacations while home on leave, What a Stinking hell hole that city has turned into! We have lost a number of once fine and grand cities, Atlanta, Fort Worth, New Orleans, Boston, exct......... When will the bleeding end? Who's next, Seattle? San Fran?

San Fran is gone. Where else besides New York City can you defecate and urinate in public without it being a crime. Both cities decriminalized those acts because too many minorities were being arrested doing those lovely acts. Sounds like maybe they should tell them to use a bathroom instead.
