One of my favorite Obama quotes was that he couldn't be prouder of Chicago.

Yea I wish the users of the 'gun free zone' designation would wake up, pull their heads out and drop it. The irony of it's use is almost comedic - but more like 'maddening' actually.

If he's so proud let him walk one block down the street without any secret service protection, let's see how safe it really is.

Sure works great, doesn't it? Man I hope they expand gun free zones all across the country! NOT!!!! A systemic problem with no easily reached solution that doesn't cost money and time to fix! No one want's that, imagine if Obummer actually went and tried to find and fix the problems! I say open up the arsenals and distribute arms to the citizens to defend themselves and take back there city, kill the drug pushers, the pimps, the gangbangers and the scum, that would sure fix the problems! Chicago, a shlitzey city for Obummer to be proud of! He can have it!

Apparently, some people think gun free zones are a good idea. They should live in them and experience their wonders. The rest of us aren't interested, but I will wish them well...

I visited a few "Gun Free Zones" several times in the past, that's why I live here in the good 'Ol United States! Guns work, Guns save a lot more then lives, guns save freedoms! A gun to me is a safety device, like a life jacket, a good knife, and warm pare of boots! Gun Free Zones, More like freedom free zones!

I escaped Chicago about a year ago, and couldn't be happier. One point of correction to the OP - concealed carry is legal in Chicago and is shall issue.

I still believe all politicians should have to live security free in the worst neighborhoods of their home state and their kids should have to go to the local public school.

Chicago is a cesspool of human waste created by politicians

have you read their list of prohibited places even with a permit? They may have made a huge step for gun rights recently by becoming "shall issue" state but Illinois is still virtually a gun free zone.

Didn't bad, bad Leroy Brown live on the South side of Chicago? Chicago is a monument to the stupidity of GFZ and gun control allied with nanny/welfare state liberals.

Sh!tcargo is the liberals Utopia, been under Democratic control for a generation or so, with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country...

Me thinks that all those politicians that created this mess should be forced to live in it without any armed security.

They made it, let 'em live in it...

As I understand it, 'Gun-free' actually means that guns are free. Just ask your local 'guy in the street' for one, and that's it....

I couldn't possibly comment, since I didn't elect him - being a pesky furriner. But after he's given up his temporary free accommodations next year, he'll just be another man in the street.

After eight years unable to post an opinion, I'll finally be able to say what I think.

Non of us, meaning the people, elected him. He was elected by the electorial college not the popular vote.
Tac, if you are in the UK, why would you worry about your public opinion of Oterdhead?

Sir, I have no wish to cause offence to my many friends here on this American forum by expressing contrary opinions on matters that do not concern me.

If I was a 'mercan, then I could justify my comments by having taken part in the democratic process, but alas, I am not, and never will be.

Besides, mrs tac senior only raised polite boys.
