The Z50 K3 (1973) was the first mini trail 50 to get the new chassis with rear suspension.
I remember when the new CT70 hit the scene with rear shocks, 40% more motor and a 4-speed! Some pre-teen 50cc Mini Trail riders were a little envious/resentful. "It needs a proper looking gas tank!"

When my older brother and I were kids (both pre-teens), we moved to Italy and Dad bought us a MotoBeta to share, a little 50cc thing.
We went everywhere on that thing, and usually ended up getting left by it wherever we went. :s0140:

Later on, back in the states and a senior in high school, I had a Honda CB350 for about a month before I graduated and "outgrew" it.
Replaced it with the CB750 right after I got out of high school. Rode that thing around the continental US twice in two years.

Just now took a cell phone pic of an old snapshot I found of it in its road warrior attire...
This is at an interstate rest area where I spent the night, somewhere along the eastern seaboard.

A few years after my two biggest rideabouts, I was nearly involved in three horrific incidents all within about a week. Nature was trying to tell me something, so I parked it at my Houston apartment complex and chained it up to a lamppost in the parking lot. The insurance was about to expire, and since I was now in the process of selling it, I didn't bother to renew it. Came out one morning to go to work, and during the night someone had cut down the lamppost and stole the damned thing.
That was the end of my riding days...

Started watching the Mecum Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas last night (recorded recently on DVR). At least 100 gorgeous vintage bikes (all functional) like Vincent Black Shadows, Hendersons, Triumphs, Nortons, Beemers, Czech bloc oddities, racers and dozens of other two-wheeled masterpieces.

Fast forwarding through a commercial, I suddenly realized it was a rerun of the 2017 show, which I have surely seen before. Kept watching anyway. Classic bike porn is impossible to turn off.

My buddy was cut off rudely in Salem on his HD Road King a few years ago. He locked everything up and laid it halfway over (45-degree angle) onto the crash bar. Bike stopped abruptly and he traveled a few extra yards over the windscreen, landing on his hip - his right hip with a holstered S&W 642. Hospital looked him over and sent him home. His GF took this pic of the bruise. F'ing OUCH!!!

"My buddy was cut off rudely in Salem..."

That happened to me in Cody Wyoming, an old cowboy who probably shouldn't have been driving any more. Got on the brakes, the bike went down, and I went sliding down the street while sitting on top of it. A Guzzi Quota of all things. No damage that I could see, except some scratches on the head guard. Picked it up and drove off, after explaining multiple times to the cops and rescue guys that I really didn't need any help. I guess it was a slow day in Cody for them...

And HEAVY as hell!
Best balanced was my old Husky WR 450, it was a tractor down low, but you could give it a hand full and it would explode with crazy power! Also HEAVY as hell, but easier to handle!

I had a very old wr250 , 1966 , the balance could not be matched at the time .

I bought this last summer but have only had it out a couple of times. Looking forward to a trip to Millican Plateau in a couple of months.
2006 CRF250X still sporting the original tires. (rock hard, they are) A friend of mine bought it new in 08 and didn't ride it much.
