Actually, the original Colt Trooper was the predecessor to the famous Python and shared the same frame and lockwork with the big snake. The leaf mainspring and old school attention to detail alone might explain the smooth double action pull and extremely light single action.All I have is a Colt Trooper .357 that has seen better days cosmetically but really shoots great. The officer that owned it originally must have done some work on it because it does have a very smooth and like DA trigger and a hair trigger in SA.
