Rrrrright......
Because....like some Americans. Some believe that the Govt. owes them/is responsible for their.......
Housing,
Clothing,
Medical Care,
Personal Defense,
and Food (did I miss anything?).......just for breathing air. Only when they stop breathing.....will the Govt's obligation to them, END.

And, this is not meant in any sort of a racist tone. The "some Americans" comes in all the colors of the rainbow.

It's my understanding textured soy protein never goes bad and can be found in the bowels of the ancient pyramids good as new...just add soy milk

Winco stocks well packaged for long term storage rice towards the back. It's with the Gamma Lids, bulk grains. All of the air has been sucked out and it's a hard brick. Suspect that it would last more than 10 years. Regardless, cheap insurance, that and a couple of squirrels or neighbor cats for protein and you're good for 30 days. .

These long term storage buckets are available at Bob's Red Mill in Milwaukie, Oregon. They used to have stickers with recipes available to match the contents.
