Legislation to Repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act Introduced | RECOIL

Earlier this week, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) reintroduced the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act, which was previously introduced in the 113th Congress (2013-2015). The two-page bill would repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA). If passed, it would open the floodgates of litigation targeting the firearms industry, as was the case prior to its passage.

Did people sue automakers for the unlawful use of their products in drunk driving or reckless driving cases where people were killed, or directly harmed? What about suing the alcohol companies for making strong liquor and for the unlawful binge drinking of their product, in which people went to hospitals, and died as well??

How bout we sue doctors and medical companies for unlawful prescription drug abuses, whose overdoses and deaths are plain to see?:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Why single out firearms manufacturers..:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

On the other hand... sue the Media groups for inciting riots and violence with their toxic messaging?:confused:
Well they should pass the
"Accurate journalism accountability act" should be a thing. Making them fiscally responsible for over hyping events and spinning half truths that stir up the low information types.. I do agree they should be held responsible. That and they should be fined as massive media outlets for publishing information that isn't 100% fact checked. Perhaps then it could taper down the political crusades so many large outlets have engaged with. And that should apply to both sides.. but most of the conservative media outlets Ive read through have pretty solid fact checked info.. not all, but most.

The whole "Hands up dont shoot proved to be faked.. 4 or 5 outlets all pushed that narrative with the "gentle giant".. making the woke folks go nuts as they were under the impression there was true injustice.. And riots did ensue due to that..

The problem is that the entire leftist machine (politicians, media, etc.) lies about the PLCAA. The word in all their mouths is that the law completely shields them from all liability.

What they never say is that gun manufacturers still have 100% liability for defective products. They simply have protection from liability for illegal use of perfectly functional firearms.

What a bubblegumming lie machine the Left is!

The people who served alcohol have been sued for that action when it resulted in injury or death later when the person they served drove a car afterwards.

Not saying that is right - although, there is something to be said for the argument that if you serve alcohol and someone gets drunk, and then drives, you may share some of that responsibility.

That is quite different from manufacturing a gun, or even just selling a gun - unless the seller knew the buyer shouldn't have a gun.
