One of my in-laws is in the ICU at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center Portland. Does the hospital have metal detectors? Is carrying well concealed with a valid CHL legal?

No metal detectors...... Keep it covered, you're good to go. Doors all say "electronic surveillance " which is via camera only....

You should know that it's a Gun Free zone...I always feel super safe there with security having pepper spray and all.

same as all the hospitals. They wont search you. I doubt they have metal detectors since that makes high paying customers feel that they are going to some county charity hospital for gang bangers. if they find it they will ask you to leave

When I was going there regularly two years ago they did not have metal detectors. And of course I would never carry in a gun free zone. No one ever saw the gun I did not have on me

They screen at their Adult Emergency Room. Just like airport security. Makes me feel safe that security has pepper spray.

Keep that in mind if you need to be involved with the ER/Trauma Center.
