Ruger highly recommends not shooting the .380 +P ammo through the LCP, as it was not designed for that. What makes the +P different? Besides the obvious.

The only +P ammo I could find was 85-9gr. My new SD ammo is 90gr, but not specified as +P. Is this ammo okay for the LCP or should I find something new?

The +p is higher pressure. Ruger is saying that they didn't design their guns to deal with the +p pressures. Any ammo that is not +p should be fine.

Makes sense, just wanted to be sure, thanks! :s0155:

The Hornady Critical Defense work very well in the LCP, too.

If you aren't familiar with it, there's a lot of LCP information at: Elsie Pea Forum - The #1 Ruger LCP Owner Forum and Information Source

I haven't heard of that place, I'll be sure to check it out. I have the Hornady CD in my LCP right now, glad to know it works well for others too.
