Laser hardening barrels

Following is from an email I received an email from Volquartsen.

For example, it would be easy to not send our barrels out for laser hardening. It's a process that many customers aren't aware it's being done. It's tough to tell by looking at the barrel whether or not it's been laser hardened. We had excellent performance for many years prior to the laser hardening process, and we would be confident in our product without this step.

First time I've heard of this process. Are there any other manufactures who use this process?

For .22lr barrels? Laser hardened or not, volkenharsen stuff is a scam, man. Just shoot that ruger.

Simply a newer process to preform localized surface hardening, think an updated version of induction hardening.
