WHERE is the line in the sand for us? In Colonia America, that line was the disarming of the colonists. First powder raid, the Brits got clean away with it cause the locals had no warning. Second powder raid, word spread quickly enough the local militia were on hand, drew up the bridge so the Regulars could not get across. Third raid.... Lexington and Concord.... word had got out Gage was sending a large detachment to those towns to seize powder and shot... and arms. Within twelve hours of Revere learning of the raid and its details, fourteen thousand Massachussetts Militia were mustered and moving out toward Lexington and Concord. Every town and village within fifty miles of Boston had the word and had mobilised in that twelve hour period. By the time Gage's men had returned to near Boston, thirty thousand Massachussetts Militia had turned out, Gage had lost forty percent of his men, twenty five percent of his officers..... nearl ten times the total casualties of the Colonials.
Just where is OUR line in the sand, and what means do WE have in place to communicate, mobilise, respond?
Whatcha gonna do, Tionico? Internet bluster is easy.
