To be fair....with the illegal tinting on the rear window of that truck, anyone would have mistaken a folded newspaper for a gun. (yes sarcastic)

Sadly these cops are on high alert because the psycho they are chasing is highly trained and an expert marksman. He has already shot at 4-5 other cops, killing one of them and another in critical condition, killed the daughter and fiance of the man who represented him at his hearing for making fraudulent statements that cost him his job. Bad cops are never a good thing, but most are good cops and mistakes can and do get made. LA is beyond crazy to start with.

Well lets give LAPD the green light to just start shooting at any automobiles that they think could be him. If they are scared then let'em shoot first...at anything or anyone. Ya know a cop just wants to go home, the civilians? Naaahhhh they don't matter. Its a tough job. Civilians, you should expect to be shot at if the officer doesn't know for sure who you are.

He was a cop, He was exempt from any ban. He utilized his status as a police officer to get most of his firearms class III & otherwise to further his political agenda. He uses the exact same talking points of a local 'ceasefire' guy uses on some local eugene news sites. This guy thinks what he does will further his agenda but only shows how frickin crazy they all are.

Sadly, I think this is the mind set of LAPD right now. They don't care, all they have to do is say they "thought" it was the bad guy. If'n it ain't, oh well...better luck next time.

While it is true that "bad cops" and "rogue cops" are a minority, that in no way lessens their culpability. The problem is the Blue Wall and strong unions that make these guys invulnerable to the law that they were hired to enforce.

Being a police officer is not all that dangerous, compared to being a convenience-store clerk, for example. Imagine if every time one of those clerks got killed, all their fellow 7-11 buddies piled into their cars and went cruising for payback!

LEOs are public servants with arrest powers, nothing more. We need to get off this ridiculous myth that they're somehow specially empowered to carry weapons and mete out life & death with impunity.
