We need to control these "weapons of mass destruction" and "weapons of war". They are just too easy to get ahold of. Perhaps we need stronger knife controls? LAWS, Like how the LEFT has been so successful with curbing gun violence. If we could save just one child?

I'm neither a Shark nor a Jet. I did not appear in Michael Jackson's video presentation of modern edged-weapon techniques (aka: Beat It video). In the kitchen I rarely cut anything straight and even, no way you could read a newspaper through my rutabaga slices... Gordon Ramsey would have a haughty English guffaw at my knife skills.

But I've got a blade that I'm pretty sure I could deploy in about a half-second if I needed to open-up an assailant who unwisely decided I was a easy mark.

Nope, that's not Plan A... but it's in the roster.

I built a trebuchet with (okay... for...) my son's science project about 10 yrs ago.
It was AWESOME
We chucked a golf ball almost 100 yds, that was the maximum distance we got with different weights, projectiles, and sling sizes. It was pretty detailed, stood almost 4' tall and had the ability to use dumbell weights to alter the release and trajectory of the projectile.
When we moved I donated it to the school for the science dept... man, I hope they got some use out of it. I'd be VERY disappointed if they didn't considering how much work went into it.

We never fulfilled our dream of launching flaming pudding cups, but we did toss some gas-soaked tennis balls set afire... pretty cool. No wonder my boys grew-up to be awesome*.
