I was looking at purchaseing a new Kimber Customer CDP II in the 3 inch but as I was looking at it today the guy at the store handed me the EMP. I was impressed. Those of you that have shot them both what do you reocommed between the those two guns in the 3 inch? When you are spending that kind of money a few dollars in price difereance really doesn't matter.
Thanks
Tim

I have been interested in the EMP, but am also looking at the officer frame STI Escort 1911. My dilemma is deciding between the smaller framed EMP in 9mm and the officer sized 3" STI in .45ACP. I'm having a tough time deciding between the slightly smaller framed pistol with just a little greater capacity in 9mm and the slightly larger frame STI in .45ACP.

I had not really considered the Kimber as I have heard some negative things about Kimbers in general, at least some of the last few years production. Would be interested in input.

I have owned two different kimber CDP's A pro and a compact. Both were excellent guns and I really miss the PRO I sold you Tim. But my next purchase is going to be a EMP in 9mm with G10 grips.

The EMP's are are fantastic guns

Having cut my teeth on 1911's..I keep going back to the platform.. Been thinking seriously about an EMP in .40..as an EDC.. As far as Kimbers go..I've owned and carried several Ultra Carry's..and never had anything but exceptional reliability and performance out of them..

I may be posting something in trade for an EMP soon..if I can quit wavering...:s0131:

Andy -The gun you sold me has been a great gun and still have it, will probably never sell it. I have put some rounds through it and love shooting it. But I would like to add something in a 9mm that is as accurate but less expensive to shoot. I also want something smaller to carry. I have considered the PM9, but I love the feel of the 1911.

Love my kimber Custom Carry II. I treat her like a cheap date on Saturday night and she still loves. but man when I strip her down and clean the grime and junk off and start rubbing in the oil she lites up like a happy christmas tree.
