Kennewick City Councilman Bob Parks is introducing a resolution opposed to HB 1588 and SB 5625. If passed, HB 1588 and SB 5625, will infringe on our Second Amendment Rights in Washington State.

Last night [Tuesday] was the Council meeting during which a few citizens went to the podium to express their support for such a resolution. Then the Mayor let us know that he understood our message. The Mayor and 3 additional Councilmen all voiced their opposition to HB 1588 and SB 5625.

Next week is the Council Workshop Meeting where public comments will be welcomed. Tri-Cities residents, particularly Kennewick residents, are urged to attend the Workshop next week in support of this resolution. Meeting is: Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Kennewick City Hall, 210 West 6th Avenue, Kennewick, WA. Meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

It does not matter if there are "exemptions" to ANY gun control law. We need to fight so there NEVER is that law......................

Bad laws are bad laws exemptions or not!

Last nights City Council Workshop Meeting in Kennewick, WA was well attended by citizens opposed to Washington State HB 1588 and SB 5625. Discussion and then 15 minutes of public comments on the resolution to oppose HB 1588 and SB 5625 were included in the Legislature Update portion of the meeting. Other State bills were also discussed according to their potential affect, financial and otherwise, on our city.

At least 5 of us {me included} were allowed to comment. During the break I spoke with our Mayor, Councilman Parks {who proposed the resolution}, and a reporter from the Herald.

"It ain't over 'til it's over" so today would be an excellent time to contact your WA State Legislators and oppose this bill.

they cant restrict guns. seattle tried to ban guns in parks. so did snohomish county, the state supreme court said the state constitution trumps that, so no bans.
