Kelso WA - Teachers vote to defy Judges order to return to the classroom.

Didn't a Marshall force a woman into a jail cell at gun point when she defied a judge in the past couple of weeks.

Maybe someone should draw a picture of a gun and show it to hte teachers on the picket line.

That might be interesting throwing all of the teachers of the district into jail. Hmm.

I would want to know a lot more about the contract negotiations and why the Judge ruled that they had to go back to work.

They have been working without a contract since June apparently. That is a long time for both school board and teachers not to find a resolution.

All I remember is the picket signs from years ago that said, "2% great of milk not for teachers."

It was regarding the 2% over 4 years cost of living raise that one school board was offering teachers. Considering cost of living tends to be greater than that year on year, they end up actually making less every year.

On the other hand, school boards end up being in horrible positions when state budgets are cut without their control. Or they have standards placed on them which they don't agree with and aren't funded.

So if the judge ordered them back to work, that means they would be breaking the law, correct? Didn't our President and Hillary both state after the Kentucky same-sex marriage issue that the law must be followed and that people must do their jobs? If so, and if the lady in Kentucky got locked up, where is the cry from the White House to punish these teachers??? Is it lost behind the wall of hypocrisy? Probably hiding behind the many donations made by the teacher's union to his campaign. Can't bite the hand that fees you....

I think the lady in Kentucky actually wasn't' locked up until after the Judge stated she would be in contempt of court. So I guess the contempt of court ruling would be next?

You may be right. They may get a day or two to respond, then be slapped with a contempt charge if they don't go back to work.

This is the message your young children are getting, if you want more from the Gov then don't do your job and protest... IMHO unions should not be allowed for public service, only in the private sector!!!

Well it works for saving trees and stopping oil industry ships o_O The hipocracy never ceases too amaze me from these liberals:s0092: As long as its part of their agenda, the law is out the door...:s0002:

OH but they are UNION so the law really doesn't apply to them. Just ask them in-between the cussing and threats I'm sure it will become clear how Unions work.

Just ask the Longshoreman who threw such a fit that now Hajin doesn't come into Portland any more.

I hate unions, and stand by the idea that they are ruining this county. They are built on corruption.
Period.

This is more of the idiocrisy of today's America. We don't enforce paws anymore, unless it will force the people into socialism (ie. taking our guns)

They should all be fired and kick out the union at the same time get people in there who want to teach our kids instead of padding their wallet and building golden retirement programs

In the state of WA its against the law for teachers to strike. Period.

Yeah they set a fine example for the new socialist kids in the making. They do not give a damn about law at all. Hell they are a Union, they can get away with anything just like the Administration of the country.
Kind of disgusting to under state it.

What I would like to see is for all Educators in this country to have to take the Same Oath that Our Police, Military, and others take to support the US Constitution and then that oath be enforced for all to the point that if they teach anything that undermines the Constitution as it was written and intended, and if they do anything that undermines this Nation as a free republic that they need to be held to task as a criminal and their credentials stripped from them for life, and in some cases people like Ayers actually be imprisoned for their undermining of the country. It will take that severity to regain this country.

.

I've long advocated that those in any position of "public trust" (educators, police, firefighters, regulatory-agency employees) should be held to a higher standard than the general public, in the form of a "Double Ordinary Citizen" sentencing minimum (excepting that the enhancement shall not be allowed to turn a misdemeanor into a felony, or to upgrade a non-capital crime to a capital one). Elected officials, judges and Executive appointees get a ten-fold multiplier--the higher the degree of expected trust the higher the penalty for breaching it.

If they are breaking the law, why haven't charges been drummed up.

Oh that's right, another reason I loathe unions.
