i just picked up a used kahr p40(in steller condition for what i think is a good price of 250 bucks with a few magazines and a cleaning kit and 150 rounds of FMJ). but the slide wobbles very bad. both vertical and horizontal. it seems to shoot ok. i was just wondering if there is anything i can do about the slide wobble

if it shoots ok, just leave it well alone. You got a very good deal, most guns you could pick up for $250 will rattle far more, don't arse it up by squeezing the gun in a vice or anything.
I have Brownings that rattle around like nail filled coffee cans, I wish that they didn't, but they shoot very well and that's the important thing..
