Well, yeah. We've been discussing HB 1240 for the past several months, along with 1143 and 5708.

The tyrannical team of Jay and Stupid Bob pulled out all the stops and actually had these bills pre-written and provided to the legislature when the session opened. Many willing sponsors were ready; hearings were held in Olympia where our side was well-represented and provided about four times as much testimony and objections to the bills as the well-funded anti-side. Of course, the gun-control advocates prevailed (just like our mysterious past several election cycles in this state). When the votes were tallied in the committees and both houses, of course the bills passed almost strictly down party lines.

The masthead of the Washington Post reads, "Democracy Dies in Darkness."

The motto of the liberty-loving citizens of our state should be, "Democracy Dies in Washington State."

Yeah, I predict that pump shotguns, revolvers, and lever action carbines are about to get hugely popular and hard to find in the near future.

Stock up on ammo y'all, that's the next item to ban/restrict. Get it while you can.

The courts will find these to be unconstitutional. This is a flagrant attempt to drum up support for their reelection campaigns.
Well, since the Washington State Supreme Court is solidly liberal, and we're in the 9th Circuit while SCOTUS appears in no hurry whatsoever to take on any 2A/RKBA cases in the near future (and with Justice Thomas fighting the media and the libs for his seat on the bench), I would not hold out any hope for a quick resolution.

I see at least two to five more years of increasingly odious and restrictive laws foisted upon us with the current restrictions continuing to be in effect.

I hope and pray that I am wrong but look at how things are working out for California -- virtually zero progress in the past three years (other than more carry licenses being issued, but few places to legally do so throughout the state). Challenges, appeals, injunctions, stays, but still gridlock and the oppressive laws remain in place.

Yessir. Need only look to some other states to see what's coming: background checks to purchase ammo, no on-line ammo sales, local and state taxes (above sales tax) strictly on ammo purchases, limits on buying bulk ammo from retail outlets - possible training requirements just like for firearms purchases, oh, and better believe the permit to purchase will rear its ugly head again (if Oregon's law doesn't get shut down for good) and it will be applied to ammo purchases as well.

First they came for the Socialists Hi-cap magazines, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist had no Hi-cap magazines.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists Semi-automatic firearms, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist had no Semi-automatic firearms.

Then they came for the Jews shotguns, rifles and revolvers, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew did not own a shotgun, rifle or revolver.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me real weapons left to put up a fight with.

Awwwww......Come On Man.
We're only asking to pass "reasonable and common sense" gun control laws. Then, we'll stop.

Is that you Brandon?

Aloha, Mark

So our political system is supposed to have three independent branches. Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. When the governor and the state AG script bills for the legislature, the independent nature described becomes blurred.

This you can count on. Another monkey-see, monkey-do from California politics.

Exactly! But the sheeple in our state neither understand this nor care. If this weren't so tragic, and it was happening elsewhere, I'd find it ludicrous and funny. But alas, it's here, and it's simply sad and depressing.

These days, it almost seems as though a lot of gun-owners are the only people left standing in our country who actually understand and fight for, the entire Bill of Rights.

As an aside, shame on the ACLU for never fighting for the 2nd Amendment, simply picking and choosing from the 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th. Later the ACLU worried about the 13th, 14th, 15th and 19th Amendments, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but always has been silent on the 2nd.

The ACLU picked a side a long time ago, they only speak up to defend criminals leftists and antifa (redundant I know). They could care less about the constitution.
I think there are a lot more people that care about these issues then it appears in the voting rolls. I know several who voted for Kent and had their signatures invalidated and no their signatures haven't changed. Now Perkins Coie Is emailing same people trying to get support for overturning signature validation in court.
The voting system here is a bad joke.

So they are just willfully ignorant.

I would think the ALCU would have at least read the Federalist Papers. It's pretty effing clear what was intended.

"What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms." – Thomas Jefferson

Many on the Left view the 2A "issue" as inherently Right Wing. Accordingly, as a Left-leaning outfit, it isn't something that the ACLU will get behind.
