I posted this on another forum and thought it might be fun to see what my fellow NWFA friends say. My favorite (out of my little family of 3) is still my BHP. Here's how I would rate mine.

1) Shooting Accuracy = 5
2) Looks = 5
3) Sights = 4 (would prefer night sights)
4) Size/Weight = 5
5) Grip = 5 (Love the pachymer grips)
6) Trigger = 5
7) Cost = 4 (I think I paid more than I should have... Oh well)
8) Disassembly/Ease of Cleaning = 5 (super easy to disassemble and clean)
9) Reliability/Malfunctions = 5
10) All others (customer service, etc.) = 5 (no problems to add, so 5)

Out of 50, I rate my favorite gun at = 48.

I guess that means I need to buy a new one at a good price with night sights.

well I kick myself everyday for selling my BHP...
but the tactical xd40 in od green and black slide...is now my favorite... :s0155:

6) Weight = a little heavy fully loaded so 4
7) Cost/Investment Value =5
8) Disassembly/Ease of Cleaning = 5

10) All others (customer service, concealment, etc.) = 5

so a grade of 47 its a pretty good gun and I'm a big guy so concealing this pistol has not been a problem...

and Tuesday i'll have a xs40sc...in og green and stainless slide

its actually for the wife... it's her birthday present...

i still want to get a xd40 service. in black and stainless slide... :s0155:

Colt Combat Commander

1) Shooting Accuracy = 5 It is way more accurate than I am.
2) Looks = 5 Nothing looks nicer than a stainless 1911.
3) Sights = 3 Just has the basic sights for now.
4) Size = 4 Great size for the range and cool weather carry.
5) Grip = 5 Fits me like a glove.
6) Weight = 3 All stainless makes it a bit heavy.
7) Price = 4 Very affordable but not cheap.
8) Disassembly/Ease of Cleaning = 5 1911's are amazingly easy to clean.
9) Reliability/Malfunctions = 5 Zero issues after many range trips.
10) All others (customer service, etc.) = 5 The first one I bought was a lemon. Colt immediately replaced it.

Out of 50, I rate my favorite gun at = 44

Ruger Security Six, from the 70's, .357 with a 6 inch barrel. Have not fired it for a long time, but have a good memory, is a joy to shoot in 357 or 38 specials.
1) Shooting Accuracy = 5 ( i suck but the gun ALMOST makes me look decent)
2) Looks = 5
3) Sights = 5
4) Size = 4 (a little larger than i like, but that does make it very managable in 357)
5) Grip = 5
6) Weight = 4 (a little heavy, but damn it is a sold well built rig)
7) Cost = 5 (paid $250)
8) Disassembly/Ease of Cleaning = 5 (pretty straightforward!))
9) Reliability/Malfunctions = 5 (never let's me down)
10) All others (customer service, etc.) = 5 no had an issue with it...

Total=48 pts

My Remington 51 in .380. Made circa 1925.

Accuracy: 4. Decent considering the size and caliber and overall purpose of the piece. It wasn't designed to be a target piece. Better than the Walther PP, the Sig 230, Mauser HSc, Colt 1908, Colt Mustang and the various FN's, Brownings and Beretta .32/.380's I've owned.

Looks: 5+. Classic and graceful Art Deco lines. In a way no polymer will ever match.

Sights: 2. By today's standards, the sights are pathetic. They are characteristic of the day and similar to other serious pocket autos of the era. The pistol is a short range defense weapon, like the LCP or Seecamp. It is meant to be pointed rather than sighted.

Size/Weight: 5. 21 oz and all steel. Very flat and thinner than the Kahr. Superb for IWB carry. Far better than any revolver.

Grip/Fit: 5. The designers took exceptional care and did a lot of research with the grip. The most natural pointing defense pistol I have ever handled. Feels wonderful in the hand and very comfortable to shoot. Right up there with the Colt Woodsman and the High Standards (my second favorites). Grip panels are bakelite with simple checkering.

Trigger: 4. Nice and clean breaking.

Cost: 3. In good shape, these are fairly expensive.

Disassembly: 1. Very complex. You don't "field strip" these, but sit down with a beer and the instructions. Exceptionally well made in the Golden Age of mechanical engineering and when machinists were machinists. Probably why they didn't produce them for 75 years.

Reliability: 5. Seven shot mag.

Safety: (my category). Thumb safety and grip safety. Button mag release.

Total 34.

Although I carried it for years, I don't carry it anymore. Now we have 9mm's, like the steel framed Kahrs, that are of similar size and weight.

Probably the last pistol I would ever sell.
