I was thinking about it on the way home from work tonight and I realized that I have never had an AR-15 in my hands before I assembled this one. I have/had no idea how they're supposed to work at all. The charging handle took me by complete surprise. "Am I supposed to pull on this?" Then I pulled on it, and thought Oh, that must cock it or something. My wife said, That looks just like the ones in video games. She'd never seen one before.
I bought her an M&P 22 for Christmas, we're going to do a date night on Saturday at a gravel pit, and I'm going to show her how to shoot it.
Relax. I know nothing about ARs, but I've been shooting guns since I was 14. Just not an AR.
Time for bed. I have a lot of beer to drink starting early tomorrow morning if we're going to plink at cans on Saturday.
