:p (to the anti-carry crowd BIOYA)

Could new SAF win eventually take right-to-carry back to SCOTUS?

Could the Second Amendment Foundation’s important victory yesterday in a right-to-carry case that secured a preliminary injunction against the District of Columbia’s unreasonably restrictive “good reason” permit requirement give gun rights advocates another chance to get Supreme Court review because of conflicts in the lower courts?

Great Decision. Congrats to SAF. This will be appealed. Then it can be added to the San Diego, Peruta, and the Hawaii case, Baker, that ruled the same and are pending a full review at the 9th Circuit. All good Decisions, but it will be years before they are finalized in the Courts. Hope they make their way to the SCOTUS before we end up with another anti President with an opportunity to replace one or more of the current Justices.

Heat for Texas prof supporting gun control, while NY writer takes different tack

A professor at the University of Texas at Austin is taking heat today for an Op-Ed in the Dallas Morning News calling for restrictive gun control following the shootout in Waco, while an opinion in the New York Post yesterday warning that New York officials better pay close attention to this week’s concealed carry victory in the District of Columbia.

I'd like to see two left leaning SCOTUS Judges drop in the next non D president's term. That would help bring us back to center on a lot of issues like this.

Judge denies ‘admin. stay’ in District of Columbia CCW case; Salem rally set

As Oregon gun owners prepare for this Saturday’s “I will not comply” rally in Salem, there is good news this morning from the far end of the country, as a federal judge just denied an immediate administrative stay pending appeal of a ruling last week that the District of Columbia’s “good reason” requirement “impinges on Plaintiff’s Second Amendment right to bear arms.”

I guess "to keep the criminals you won't lock up from killing my family" isn't a solid enough reason.
