Don't mean to crap your thread Andy, but you need to give more info...like how do you know it's Japanese, history, etc. before anyone would part with a .22 for it. Thanks.

@Herb g...
Look up Yanone ( Japanese Arrowheads )
Specifically Togari-Ya....
Many look like mine.
Its old , Do I know for sure how old...No
Do I know for sure its history ...Again No

I will not put out any other information as I do not know for sure...
If you want to trade great ...if not move on.

Hey Andy, it says "moriton" in Japanese katakana which is not a Japanese word or name. The katakana alphabet is used, amongst other situations, for foreign words or names, so I'm fairly certain that it's the rendered Western family name of Morton.

Thanks AshWilliams,
So...Japanese writing on a Japanese Arrowhead ...Western family name....
The plot thickens...
I still say its a Yanone of the Togari-Ya type ...looks too much like the others I have seen....
Also still think its worth a .22 rifle w/ peep sights...
Andy

Yeah, it's definitely of Japanese make and origin. I'm just conjecturing on the last name, but it definitely says "moriton" in katakana. Maybe it was a souvenir for a visiting Westerner who had their name engraved on it.

At any rate, it's an interesting piece. Good luck with the sale or trade.

Cheers!
