Unfortunately I doubt that the senate will follow through. I wonder how you get the zombie/dead voters to switch sides?

Well, since nobody got impeached, charged with treason or went to jail over the Valerie Plame affair which was FAR worse, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no, it won't happen.

and misled Congress about his involvement in the investigation of a journalist,” he said.

Who outed her? When, Why Joe Wilson Outed Valerie Plame | Sweetness & Light

And wasn't there a trial and conviction? And after the then sitting president commuted his sentence Libby still had to pay $250k and 2 years probation. The Obama admin stated they found the Wilsons have no legitimate grounds to sue.

Now I ask, how many people died because of that one?

Well, if this was a Republican president it'd be front page news, but with the "news" media and talking heads in the Dem's "pockets" we won't hear much about it other than how the Repubs are racists!

That is what my first thoughts were. Too close and another diversion in the brewing, but maybe if the public climbed on this enough just maybe they will have no choice.

OK, how about this. When 20 whackjobs in the congress bring up impeachement, what happens to it?

    Nothing.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., a former federal prosecutor who led the Senate in the impeachment of a federal judge in 2010, said the articles of impeachment in the resolution are simply a list of “debunked conspiracy theories.”

“It is the height of irresponsibility to use the Congress's power to impeach office holders – a power that has been used very rarely and judiciously – to settle political scores,” Schiff said. “The House Republican Leadership should disavow this misguided effort immediately; it is far more damaging to Congress and its impeachment authority than to anyone in the administration.”
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...esolution-to-impeach-attorney-general-holder/

    So, there's that.
You should not bring up impeachement without having SOME IDEA it could POSSIBLY succeed, and when 20 representatives in a body of 435 puff up their chests and have a press conference isn't even news! You might as well write a headline that says The Representatve from wisconsin discretely farted! Because it's about as noteworthy.

In this country we don't impeach people as the first step in a fishing expedition. Well. we didn't until a republican adulterer went on a multi-year witch hunt and discovered that a guy let a girl blow him. and then tried to lie about it. Oh the horror!

But mark my words, keep this up and don't come crying to me when a democrat starts impeaching a republican president the day after the inaguration. you asked for it.

I'd sure like to see a headline that said "20 Rebublicans Introduced a Jobs Bill"

I hate to add to the side-track of this thread, but the Plame affair is an example of how laws to "protect" certain government employees go awry.

Spooks trying to influence US public opinion while concealing their status threatens liberty a lot more than someone "outing" those spooks. The CIA isn't supposed to be operating inside the US, and the fact that an agent is "doing this on their own time" isn't an acceptable defense. Working for a secret agency should mean keeping your fingers out of domestic affairs, especially politics.

As to the Holder episode, it appears to be a maneuver to make at least some Demos go on the record as supporting the controversial acts as a lead-in to the mid-term elections.

WHAT the heck are you talking about?

She was not trying to influence politics in any way whatsoever. Her husband, while close, is a different person isn't he?

And he had first hand knowledge that the President had lied (mispoke whatever) in the State of the Union. HE excercised his constitutional rights and immediaely afterward the vice president's office told a reporter that his wife worked for CIA. Which, small detail: WAS A CRIME.

How on earth is that HER trying to influence politics? She had a fully functional cover identity, and if anything her husband being active politically helped maintain that cover. She was outed in an attempt to discredit HIM. Because he was saying things that were, COMPLETELY TRUE.

And as to Holder, they 'controversial acts' are only controversial to Limbaugh's Ditto heads. Outside of the bubble it's been pretty thoughroughly debunked. But inside the bubble the right is still fighting against the New Deal so no real surprises there.
