I'm not sure how to read the model year data on this chart.
Could someone help out???

Why the superscript "4" on the barrel before the serial number?
Is the serial number "46440" or "446440"???

Comments, please.

Addendum: My guess is: Model 46440; 1941 Model 37 Repeater Standard Type

If I recall correctly the 4 denotes the choke. I believe the 4 is a Full choke. SN is 46440.

Now the big question. Wben are you going to post some pics with the whole gun?

The old guns (pre ~850000 SN) had the barrel fitted to the receiver and thus barrel had the SN stamped into it. Model is 37 and should be found stamped in the barrel.
