    Hypothetical story:

Its 4AM, and you are sleeping in bed. You are startled by an extremely loud banging on your door. Because it is the middle of the night, you decide to grab your sig p226 and see what is going on. You walk up the to the door, sig in hand. You look through the peep hole and see that it is the police. You hastily stuff your p226 into the back of your pajamas and open the door.

The police barge in, telling you to get on the floor. They yell out:"Search Warrant! Search Warrant!". You comply as quickly as possible, and pretty soon are in cuffs getting patted down. The officer removes your loaded p226, unloads it, and asks: "why you have a firearm?" You quickly reply: "for self defense."

A few minutes pass, and the police have finished searching your house. You ask why they have a search warrant, as you didn't do anything illegal. It turns out they executed the warrant on the wrong house. You are a worried, despite this, because you were technically carrying concealed, and do not have a CCW.

My question: is it illegal to conceal a firearm without a CCW on your own property? Would the guy in the hypothetical story have been charged?

It's something I have always wondered.

You're good to go, unless they decide to shoot you.

    I smell a law suit.

Since they didn't have a search warrant for your house, anything they find should be thrown out.

Legal. CCW laws are for places other than your dwelling.

The real question is why are you wearing pajamas sturdy enough to hold up a 226?

They don't have a leg to stand on.

CPL is only needed for outside of your home or properties. You can carry whatever you want in your own home.

I'm going to be honest here. The militarization and brute force tactics that the police use nowadays makes me really wonder why police aren't dying in droves by having innocent citizens firing back while assuming these guys aren't cops at all.. they sure as hell aren't ACTING like the police I grew up with.

That someone wonders if they can CC in their own home is a sad indicator of how badly we've allowed politicians to violate their oaths by re-electing them over and over again.

If anyone barged in my house at 4am or 4pm, their concern will not be a concealed weapon. I do not care how they are dressed, nor how they choose to identify themselves.

To put an end to any speculation, anyone with a safe in their home(or a dresser drawer for that matter) is guilty of "illegally" concealing firearms in the above hypothetical situation. It isn't an issue.

I'm still not sure how any personal firearm could be illegally carried in any way, anywhere, when the law pertaining to it simply states "Shall Not Be Infringed". It does not state "Shall Not Be Infringed Unless...". It just "Shall Not Be Infringed". Period. It doesn't change for felons or someone deemed "invalid" and it doesn't change in "Gun Free Zones".

More importantly I am interested in these tactical pajamas. If someone made a pair that would stay on my narrow behind(standard white boy issue) with a full size pistol hanging from them, I would buy a few pair.

Ya think that is what the Founding Fathers intended for Our 2nd Amendment rights today?

    Pretty narrow rights.

You mean you don't have tactical jammies?

And yeah, it is pretty sad that I have to ask questions like this. It's the country we live in.

In Washington you're totally golden. This is true even in Mass. believe it or not, as long as you are in your home or on the premises of your own business.

Believe it or not, most LEO's don't know this. And will argue you over it. They really don't like it when you point out the law to them...
