understanding that I can't have a folding stock long gun in CA if it can be fired with the stock folded.

Is this correct?

What about the "safe travel" provisions of the Fed law? Does that apply?

Might have to take my AK-74 instead of my KelTec SU-16C. The AK has a poly standard stock and the SU-16C is folding and can be fired while folded.

Almost forgot: this will be in our 41' MH.

Pretty sure your AK-74 won't be any more legal than your folder in CA. I think both are banned under the same bill.

Never heard of the safe travel provisions, will have to look them up.
