It makes no sense to have a system for background checks that is applicable to only some gun sales. In a survey conducted last summer, GOP pollster Frank Luntz found that 74 percent of National Rifle Association members support criminal background checks on all potential gun buyers, irrespective of the seller.

As a life member, I would expect to have been contacted for this poll. I don't recall ever being asked anything.
