Lots of things get patented that aren't intended to be produced or that any other company could use. They probably did some r&d, came to an end because of things mentioned above and are just protecting it.

Just seems weird, like they're trying too hard and will maybe, someday, come up with the next "Best thing!"

I'm not a Taurus fan boy or a basher, haven't had any experience with them because of all that is said about Taurus. Too many other handguns to play with.

Why can't they be both? A little from column A, a little from column B. Just keep doing the same thing over and over without trying anything new, and you'll stagnate and die. I like that they are willing to try different things.

I don't think it couldn't work. A little shifting of some mechanics and it should be feasible. Probably not for everyone but someone will buy it.

Not for me, seems to be a solution in search of a problem.

My first thought is that it may affect my shooting mechanics.

But I can appreciate the R&D department's quest for innovation.
