I wouldn't put it past Obummer, but it takes a 2/3 vote of the senate to ratify a treaty. That's actually 67 votes. I don't see that happening, and the American people would go ape imho.

If he wants a second American Revolution, maybe he will, but Ocommie is a political animal. The Socialist revolution in this country will be the death of a thousand cuts to our liberties until most of America wakes up and says WTF happened to our country. I did read parts of the "negotiating text". My understanding is that the new government would be the "Conference of the Parties" which would SELECT representatives for the "Exec. Body for Finance and Mitigation. This would be set up to run and enforce the Carbon tax, carbon credits, carbon Market (this would be where Al Gore gets richer), other taxes, penalties, interest, levies, payments, proceeds, compliance payments, contributions etc.

In other words, another way to suck wealth from the wealthier nations and moving it around while cutting off their (international bankers, I guess) share. There are so many goals and mandates, so some will be unattainable, leading to more fines and penalties. Ultimately, we the people will be emptying our pockets if this is passed and implemented. How many things can you name that do not require the use of carbon in their manufacture or distribution?

Look at it this way: The United States has about 8% of the world's population. The vast majority of the world's nations are ruled by tyrants and dictators. So, as Portland outrules all the rest of Oregon, the New World Odor (United Nations) is controled by despots who will overrule the freedoms that Americans once enjoyed. Leave it to the UN and America will never be free again!

China and India have made it clear that they want no part of environmental controls which would be mandated on them.

So, if we sign this thing and they don't, the "emerging markets" just get another great competitive advantage on us. After all, we have to be "fair" and "share the wealth."

These clowns can't get their one-world government if they don't first bring the US to its knees.

There are many different people here with many different viewpoints on various issues. Like religion, discussing these issues here is highly likely to offend and very little good can come of it.
