Larry Good (Owner of SW WA Surplus) is a friend of mine and I have never known him to lack any integrity. I.E. If he posts something that says Gary Whin sent this to him then I'll back that statement with my own reputation. (For whatever that is worth)

GRC, I didn't mean to sound like i was doubting Larry Good at all, I was merely curious why he linked Nick Goit in his comments. If it was because he thought it was the individual who wrote the letter or if he was just trying to share the post with him.

Interesting read. Took me an hour to get through this. Dunno how some of you did it in 15 minutes.

I've observed these threads, and at times even made some posts, but I can say I really don't see what Taku says that gets people so riled up. He seems to shake off the insults with more tact than I could.

He has provided a tremendous amount of information in the form of links, articles and activist information on WCFA and I've read some of it and been grateful for it.

I don't just read news from one side or another. I guess I would be considered a libertarian, but I also see the sense of urgency in their message. Times have changed, for the worse in our world, small changes in our culture are shaping public opinion against gun owners. It's those little messages that are undermining our rights, and I don't think it's by mistake.

We live in a corporatocracy where the rich elite want more power and control over us than they have.

The path to our 1st, 4th and 5th amendment rights is through our 2nd amendment rights.

It's good to have a group that sees this.

I enjoy this site as well, and like talking about reloading, gun cleaning, hunting and trading stuff. This site is great for that, but don't discount the need for people viciously protecting the rest of our rights. It's a different site with a different purpose.

Don't let the wording at the door stop you from looking at the message. It's very valid, and important in today's world.

I believe protecting the 2nd Amendment is the most important issue we face today. I'm willing to hit the streets in its defense. But I also think that the DoD wastes $2 for every $1 "wasted" on social programs. Does that make me a liberal? I have a disabled adult daughter who survives on what little she gets from SS, along with donations from me. I think it's disgusting that a person who pays $50K for a solid marble bathtub complains that she gets a whopping $300 a month. Does that make me a liberal, and not eligible to join WCFA's "elite" group of "intellectuals"? I don't think the government should be in the business of marrying anyone. Marriage is something between two people and God. The government shouldn't come into it, except to enforce property rights and child custody. I like Playboy Penguin, and would love to discuss a lot of issues with him, but I'm not gay myself. You tell me, am I a Liberal, a Conservative, or a Libertarian? Well, I'll tell you something, WCFA. You and your little group of Conservative purists, and what you think about me or anything else doesn't matter to me. What matters to me is preserving a good image of gun owners. Showing that we are mainstream, every day individuals, not mindless sock puppets for talk radio. If it's just the people of WCFA who are going to be allowed to carry the banner, then we've lost already. There's nothing a couple hundred angry illiterates are going to accomplish, other than to make the rest of us look like idiots. Have a nice day.

Hey ZigZag,

I'm a conservative libertarian; I'm not a republican, I'm sure as hell not a democrat, I'm an American. I don't know about whatever you encountered, but if I had the "power" to dictate where the $500 a week in taxes I'm forced to pay goes to, I'd gladly direct every cent to your daughter to help take care of her and improve her life, instead of funding the Solyndras, Columbia River Crossing studies, salt-marsh mouse studies, Obama-phones, $700 toilet seats, Imperial military ventures overseas, and frequent lavish White House parties.

Just sayin'.

I don't care which direction anyone thinks they are from. This country is made up of AMERICANS. So it should stay. Anyone who wants to change the way we live or our freedoms should find another country. X2 on the spending we could easily straighten things out with some common sense in office

Bite my tongue, but remember cockroaches do come in many shapes and sizes. However, what they all have in common is the fear of light and the stink that they leave behind.

Ok, so everything aside, yea, this whole subject gets me a bit bent. The original poster didn't seem to have a strong command of the english language, as it's full of grammatical errors, and more than a few wobblers on double negatives.

That said, one of the fundamental tenets of supporting rights, is you need to respect the rights even of those you disagree with. The idea of compiling an "anti-gun businesses list" is as anathema to the discussion of rights as, the hollywood "black list" that essentially put "communists" out of work, frankly, it put anyone out of work who disagreed with the status quo, and that is the fundamental danger of such practices.

Whenever a system exists to deprive anyone of their rights, it eventually will be used on you: Just ask Ernst Rohm.

The people who want some kind of ideological purity, are fools. The government and society that can bring you all the abortion bans, pornography bans, alcohol bans is the same government that can give you all the welfare, income distribution, and equality of outcomes you want. In cases of excess this is the same government that will send you to gulags in siberia, or death camps in poland.

While I understand there was a quick jump to blame WCFA, I tend to agree with Taku's assertion: this is far too ham handed and silly to be their work. Was it ceasefire oregon? who knows...

Fact of the matter is, I'm willing to tolerate the presence of socialists, communists, fascists, republicans, democrats because I have to, they're my neighbors, customers, friends and family and I had to learn long ago to accept people who are not as awesome as I am.
