If you are in the county and not shooting over/near a road or waterway and into to a berm you are GTG. That doesn't mean some whining turd won't call the fuzz.

It's a common misconception you can't shoot in the UGB. Also, "residential area" isn't a legally defined word in the ORS as far as I can find, so it reverts to the common definition: a district where people live, occupied primarily by private residences. So even if you are in the UGB, if you are in the rural part it shouldn't apply.
