I have a brand new (60 rounds fired) Iron Horse Firearms TOR AR-15 in 5.56/.223. As Army prior service and being very familiar with the AR platform, this rifle is amazing. This is from a new company ran by 4 awesome Marine veterans that came up with the concept while deployed. It is mostly like any other AR except the trigger is inside the pistol grip. Included is a case, set of Magpul MBUS flip up sights and 2, 30 round PMAGS.

T.O.R.
The TOR 1 was designed to be the best out of the box value in precision AR-15s. The TOR has several advantages over traditional trigger implementations, allowing shooters maximum control by employing the strongest digit on the hand. Additionally force applied to the trigger is inline with the shooter's center of aim, opposed to traditional left or light error common with the traditional trigger pull.

  • Shortened learners curve for new shooters
  • Increased dexterity in cold weather conditions
  • Trigger guard completely encases the trigger which eliminates the chance of snagging the trigger in brush or dense vegetation
  • Alternative to standard trigger design for disabled shooters

  1. I agree to the classified rules and terms of service
Cool! Looks like a really nice rifle. Seems less likely brush, etc could get caught in the trigger. Would take some training to remember where that trigger is. ;) GLWS! Looking at the pictures again where is the safety on that? Is it still in the normal location?

As an avid AR-15 enthusiast it only took me a short time to get used it. The trigger is very well protected, even more so than a conventional AR. Any firearm owner should be doing drills anyway and this will speed up familiarity. The safety is in the general location of a traditional trigger and very easily manipulated with the index finger.

Who makes the barrel?

What's the lbs of trigger pull weight?
Aero Precision ATLAS S-ONE Handguard Features:

  • Indexing grooves in 12:00 position for positive grip control
  • Compatible with low profile gas blocks
  • 1.3" Inside diameter
  • 1.5" Outside diameter
Aero Precision16" 5.56 M4 CMV Carbine Barrel Features:

  • 5.56 Nato 16" Barrel, 1/7 twist, 4150 CrMoV, QPQ, gas port drilled
  • .750 gas block journal
  • Carbine length gas system, .0785 gas port
  • M4 Feed Ramp Extension
  • HP and MPI tested

  • Trigger Pull or in this case Trigger push is a light, crisp click. I cannot find an actual specification for lbs but I would guess 6lbs+/-

My son started working for these guys a few weeks back - he's fresh out of the Army and met them through friends in UT. Hoping he'll bring his new rifle with him over the holidays so i can get a few mags through it. Nothing but good news on quality & functionality.

They are an awesome team of guys. I have spoken to the CEO many times. I really want their new shotgun.

The only probalem I see is that the muscles that actuate your pointer finger are located in your forearm, meaning that you don't disturb the handle of the gun when pressing the trigger. Most of the muscles that move your thumb are in your hand, and would contact/move the handle as you depress the trigger.

It is an interesting design; sure would like to test it out.
This platform is very stable and completely removes the trigger squeeze/jerk issue. I took this camping with a group of friends that don't shoot and all of them were able to acquire the target and hit it very little issue.

As a guy who has had extensive unsuccessful surgery to repair severed extensor muscles in my forearm, pretty sure at least part of your statement is incorrect. Grasp your forearm just above the wrist, move your thumb, you can feel the tendons that link to the muscles in your forearm if it wasn't so hard to repair I would open it up and show you, but Skynet doesn't care about the fleshy bits. What is different is the geometry of how the thumb works. The thumb is generally stronger than the fingers, making the trigger pull question different. Is it heavy enough to prevent inadvertent discharge? Not, how light is it?

really neat design!
