Introduced a friend to guns, now he thinks he's some freelance police officer

first you say in your title- "now he thinks he's some freelance police officer"

then you say-"But he's already talking about using his gun in store robberies and stuff, possibly bringing it with him to bars where he's gotten in fights"

and then you say-"He idolizes Richard Kuklinsky which was a mob hitman who killed over 100 people"

and a few post down you say- "the guy has no empathy for people and can be very guilt free even if his actions do undue harm onto another individual. I suspect he might have a form of autism."

And now I say.. How in the hell do you call this guy a freelance police officer? I call him a wannabe criminal idiot, timebomb with a gun, plain and simple. Dont be a dumbass. The country is reeling in pain from mentally challenged people geting hold of guns and killing innocents and you plop one in the guys hand? Teach him how to shoot? Screw you, screw him. ...... The one thing I will give him though is I turned a guy who had no opinion of guns into somebody who now loves guns and thinks the laws should be more "lax" from what they had been.

Earlier today he called up the offices of Senator Clair McCaskill and Senator Roy Blunt to let them know that he doesn't want any federal laws infringing on the current gun rights in Missouri. Missouri has very lax gun laws, which I think is awesome. I can take my gun, load a magazine and put it in my glove compartment with no CCW or any permit of any kind required. In his state of Illinois, he needs a FOID card which is basically a permit to own a gun, there are some gun grabbing nazi's in his home state of Illinois.

He now hates the state of Illinois and loves my state of Missouri.

Oh, the irony. It's largely due to guys like your friend that the rights of those of us who are responsible are under attack.

I really can't do anything with the man without him being a huge liability to me. I remember once I took him out to bars as his designated driver, and he gets super drunk, where a smaller person would of gotten alcohol poisoning.

Anyways we go into my favorite gas station where Im friends with the really nice young female clerk that is working there, and he starts sexually harassing her right in the middle of the store, with very explicit and offensive sexual comments, mind you he's like 34 and shes 18.

I decided to quit bringing him to my favorite gas station altogether after that, since I don't go to my favorite gas station to let me "friends" sexually harass the workers and then use me as their getaway car.

He still acts like his blatantly offensive and criminal sexual harassment towards the clerk, that Im the one taking it to seriously, but fact of the matter is if a police officer knew about what he did he would of gotten arrested for how he acted towards that female gas station clerk.

Romney is an avowed socialist for wealthy people, he redistributes the wealth, towards him and his rich cronies through the tax policy he wants to enact. I don't vote for avowed socialists for Corporations, or wealthy people for that matter, I find redistribution of wealth even more towards the already super-wealthy to be immoral.

Gun rights are one thing, but I like to have sex and not father children, so I voted against the pro-forced childbirth ticket this election, unfortunately Obama was the only candidate running against that ticket that actually had a chance at winning. If a Goldwater or Eisenhower had been running, I probably would of voted for them instead.

Yea well I talked with him some more, I'm hoping he takes my advice.

Really his psychiatrist would be more responsible than me, but even then laws putting blame on the psychiatrist are pretty wishy washy. This country should be founded on personal responsibility and he is personally responsible for his own actions if he chooses to carry a firearm, not someone who took him to the range one day.

I'm trying to explain to him that guns are only required in pretty rare circumstances and you are not a free-lance police officer simply because you carry one. I went on further to explain that no one should ever look forward to using their firearm, the problem with this is that the guy has no empathy for people and can be very guilt free even if his actions do undue harm onto another individual. I suspect he might have a form of autism.

I'll try to have him look over two different shootings, Bernhard Goetz and George Zimmerman, I feel Bernhard Goetz is a good example of when to use a firearm, while George Zimmerman's use was very questionable and could fall into that "Since I own a gun, I'm a free-lance police officer" mentality.

As others have said- You decided this would be a good friend to introduce firearms to? I realize he is a grown man and is responsible for himself but what does everyone who knew all these mass shooters after the fact..."uh I guess he was a little off". You knew this before hand and thought it would be a good idea to introduce him to firearms. I sincerely hope he is sane enough to not go out and kill someone but at the very least you have a little responsibility to your friend and the general public to do whatever you can to try help control this guy a little bit. Not knowing you or the guy personally and judging by what you've said, you made a mistake. Try to be a little more aware of who you are introducing to firearms in the future.
