Just an FYI.

I am an Oregon resident.

Friday I bought a rifle from a private WA state resident.

We went to an FFL in Vancouver.

It took fifteen minutes. The form I filled out had all the typical questions - was I a citizen, where was I born, did I use illegal drugs (including marijuana), etc.

The background check was quick.

I am not saying that all of this is a good thing - we shouldn't have to do this crap - but it is possible and legal to buy long guns across state borders, and if the FFL knows their stuff, it should be relatively painless (except for the fact that the gov. now has that info), and it is easy if you are doing a face to face transfer.

So don't be afraid to buy/sell those long guns across state lines if it is convenient for you, just because of some arbitrary state border and state/federal laws.

I do wonder who the Vancouver FFL called - OSP or WSP or both?

I didn't think to ask.
