So I noticed that per my notes a charge of 5.7 gr of n340 under a 158 pc rnfp shot a stupid tight group out of my 4" m66-0, but 8" low at 25 yds 4 years ago testing at 920 fps. Decided to try the same load in my 4"SP101 yesterday at 25 yds because I am trying to use up the last of my n340. Holy cow 1st shot.



I was just messing around and it was like I couldn't miss with succeeding shots on clay pigeons stuck in the sand. Wild what some guns like and others don't, and the way guns print with a particular load. I always tend to blame myself for bad groups and such but jeepers. I have a few hundred made up going to put 50 or so on paper at 25 yds from a rest and report back just to confirm. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good I guess.

Yes. Always surprises me how great the differences can be when you revisit something from a different platform.

I got the 4 inch sp101 as well. When you get a good load for it them things are a tack driver. Just replaced the springs and put some shims in mine and it smooth as silk now with a pretty light single action pull.

I recently shot some .40 reloads used years back on speed steel. I was quite surprised with how inaccurate I was with them *now* using same guns I had back then. Inaccurate, as in taking more than 5 shots for a 5 plate run, simulating match course of fire.

Evidently I stumbled into something. Went back to 30 yards and shot this group off the back of my pick up. I forgot the d*** paper had to shoot the 8" plate.




Then I stepped up to 25 yards and shot three cylinders DA. It's a little snappier than a n320 or red dot or 700x load but it really swings that half inch plate. It hits more like a 40 cal than a .38. I'm gonna call that a + p by feel. I'll have to get the chrony out. I have a chrony'd load load in 40 with a 165 pill and 3.8 grains of n340 that averages 925fps from a 4" sig. I would assume this is similar.




Found a flattened slug in front of the target. Look how that powder coating holds up! Stuff is amazing. That was a straight range scrap 158 rnfp.
