I suppose that if a walnut tiger was to slip out of the door at Ruger it would have been between the 60s and early 70's. I've seen some birch Ruger stocks give off a hint of striping but the only thing those stocks are good for is kindling or to cut down and make a cheap youth stocks out of. I would venture there are some older Boyds out there somewhere. I just don't ever recall seeing a walnut tiger striped 10-22 stock. However, striped M1 Garands, now that's a different story. Plenty to be had there. Have you ever had any luck finding striped maple by chance?

Off of a Ruger 10/22 sporter, the one with the normal tapered barrel, NOT the bull barrel. What is amazing is the tiger strip effect over most of the wood. The right side (as viewed from the back of the gun) is stunning as is the bottom of the wood and the top of the butt.
