Does anyone know the drill/thread depth for the three holes that are needed to install the factory scope mounting rail on an older Ruger MK II (target) pistol?
I am sure the hole further back (rear) is tapped clear through the receiver, but the forward two seem to be blind holes. Obviously don't want to go into the bbl. or chamber.
Appreciate any advice.
thanks
CFC

My Mk2 and Mk 3 receivers are identical (minus the scope base holes)
The front two hole depths are 0.25" deep, the mount screw depth is 0.21"
The rear hole is 0.16"
The exposed part of the screw below the scope mount measures 0.11"
The tap is 6-48"
Gun manual is located here
On page 40
NOTE C— Scope mount bases and rings listed will fit all Mark II and 22/45
pistols. Only the Mark II Competition model is drilled and tapped at the factory.
All other models must be drilled and tapped by your local gunsmith. Drilling and
tapping instructions are available on request.

I attached the drilling and tapping instructions
Regards
Rick
