I'm trying to find load data for .308 Win out of a 20" barrel for long distance shooting. Any info. on bullet weight, powder charge, velocity would be great. Thanks, Cdl
start with the palma 155gr bullets. I don't give out load data, but hodgdon does. The 20" is an odd critter, mine really likes 175's and 155's but not 168's. Varget and IMR3031 are the best performers in this cartridge
Try hornady 165gr SST with 46.0grs of Varget this has been a very good load in my rifle out to 400yrds.

Look to the best annual finishers of Hunters Benchrest shooters; I think the results might be published online. Gives Bbl.; action; case; primer;score. 25 in approx. a nickle dia. possibly dime or smaller at 300 yrds. with a 6X scope make them the ones nationally to learn from. Mostly a 308 Win or shorter case derivative. Barrels generally are 20" more or less.
I've got a Rem 700 SPS Tactical (18" barrel), the furthest I've taken it out to was ~520yrds, and we (group of friends and I) were successfully picking off clay pigeons at that distance, of the 6 rounds we fired between all of us (we were pressed for time) all 6 founds their targets. I load up the following and have pretty good success. : Sierra Match King 175gr 43.0gr IMR4064 CCI BenchRest2 Primers Lapua brass
