With the beginning of the "Batman shooter" trial, this article makes some very good points about the media's role of unintentionally aggravating the problem. Don't name the shooter, don't count casualties publicly, don't show pictures of the perp - and don't over the story beyond a side note.

Interesting take on Media made monsters. What would happen if we enacted an "infamy" tax? Let's say media outlets have to pay %95 of their advertising profits from this type of coverage. Maybe we could fund mental health crisis lines, or actually treat some crazy people.

I wonder how much Media mogul Sir Michael Bloomberg raked in on his Sandy Hook coverage?
