I'm originally from Canada and I wish I could say I'm shocked by Backstroms dastardly actions. Unfortunately, the lawyers I've come across or read about in my lifetime have done an excellent job of desensitizing me to the fact that to so many of them, the justice system is as much a game as NFL football. Add to that, the inflated egos that cause many to do anything in their power to get the upper hand.

I think science needs to be unbiased, independent of prosecution and police.

To go along with this article, I listened to an NPR program last month that spoke of Forensic Science and how it has yet to be proven scientifically. I cannot fully recall their arguments. If memory serves, there are no set standards of testing between agencies? I wish I knew the date of said program so I could accurately relay the content.

No standards between agencies, you mean Police Dept.'s or?

There are some standards for certain tests.

I was just thinking back to watching CSI, the medical examiner was never on the defense, he was always helping the investigators

Oh pleez, not a TV show.........

I did that job for some 6-7 years, people would be board if they compared it to the real thing.

The show has to keep things interesting or no one would watch.
