The gas adjustment is just behind the front sight. It is probably turned up too far which will throw brass a long way and probably damage the brass. Start at 1 and keep turning it up until it cycles correctly. If it came with instructions, that is what they recommend. You can use a bullet to turn the adjustment.
AgreedThis may have been built by some company but based on the A mark for the safety it is an ex military receiver. It was a parts kit at one time.
oh yes it was a demilled rifle at one time and the company APW did the assembleThis may have been built by some company but based on the A mark for the safety it is an ex military receiver. It was a parts kit at one time.
What are they worth about ? I see them all over and some just kits w/o receiver for $1200That's cool that your receiver has the Imbel gear logo. Most of the receivers that Century Arms imported did not have that.
Pete is correct on the gas adjustment. Turn that baby down so it doesn't think it's a G3.
Thanks for the info I got this from my dad with a lot of other stuff and have not seen much of the items for sale he was a great collector !My best guess is rifle as shown is between 1700- 2000$ - kind of hard to appraise by the pictures. This is based on the three I have and the ones I have seen sold.
I was thinking in the $1300-$1500 range. Four years ago, I bought an unfired 100% Imbel SAR-48 for $2,250 but lately I know prices have creeped up. What would it cost to buy a comparable DSA model? I realize that the DSA guns are commercial production, but that might be your most direct cost comparison. What are they worth about ? I see them all over and some just kits w/o receiver for $1200
I was just curious could not sell it anyway because it was my pops and will give it to my son along with the Lionel trainsI was thinking in the $1300-$1500 range. Gun Broker probably isn't going to be much help establishing a value. They have been all over the board lately. I saw a SAR-48 like mine go for $3900 with 47 bids on 1/22 while earlier in the month a Springfield Armory imported Israeli HB model went for only $1950.
