I live in Oregon and all the guns that I really like (that i find on armslist) Are up in Washington. So my question is, Could i just drive up to the persons house buy the gun. Do a bill of sale and drive home?

You can purchase a rifle or shotgun from an FFL dealer in another state, but not from a non-FFL private person.

Handguns in another state?

No. Not from a FFL dealer or private person.

IIRC, this also include gifts across state lines.

To buy a hand gun in another state, the ffl dealer that sold you the hand gun will have to ship to your chosen ffl dealer in your home state. I would advise you to get a copy of the ffl license from your dealer and take it with you. Give it to the ffl dealer selling to you. It will speed things up. The ffl in your home state will stamp "file copy" on the ffl license he gives you.
