I can say without and reseverations that the I-fish moderators have deleted more of my post more than any other on-line site I visit. That said I know many I-Fishers I call friends and enjoy their site.

Please know one takes this wrong, it's just opinion. But I think that attitude runs through many fisherman. Sorry to say it. Is it a fly fisherman thing? Just asking.

I posted over there for a while, but left when I was berated by an admin for posting a picture of a hound pack killed by wolves. It was deemed too upsetting for the children(?!!!) who visit the site. This was in the context of a wolf re-introduction discussion wherein one of the local denizens of the forum expounded on how the "wolves were there first" and were "more afraid of you than you were of them". I haven't been back there is several years.

I am glad I am not the only one feeling that Ifish website is a libertarded :) i sign up in there the same user name. After did couple reading I had a weird feeling about it. Some nice people there too, just the discusion they all had is too perfect world!

The admin, I think her name is Jenny, always has pics of her ugly mug on the first page. She patrols that site like a nazi. Listen, if you want a look at what I'm talking about, go there right now, click in the general forum, and then click on the subject line, ifish infiltrated.

I used to contribute a lot to ifish. Including some helpful how to's. I even donated a little money. But I haven't been back for a couple of years now. As Oregonhunter pointed out Jenny like a Nazi. I will also add her minions like crabbait, STGrule.

All in all I came to realize ifish was not interested and did not want conservative points of view posted so I quit. I even emailed Jenny and told her to delete my account. Haven't missed it either.

The last straw for me was when I got berated put in time out for awile and even called a murderer by a mod or admin or whatever (s)he was. I said I would take cover and give serious thought at shooting if I saw someone looking through their rifle scope at me while out hunting. I would definantly return fire is someone took a shot at me. I tried to explain that there would be no way for me to know it was accidental or not. I would be forced to assume it wasn't and act accordingly. I think I said something to the effect of "if someone shoots at me (while hunting) they better not miss because I won't".

Then there's the whole removal of the dams on the lower Snake River thing. I tried to persuade using logic why removing the dams would be of little or no benefit to the fish vurses how it would change life for humans in eastern Washington and Oregon. But got shot down. Jenny went on to post an article by a left winged loon who pointed out how human have diven the Snake River salmon and steel head runs to the point of extinction. I'm not going to get into it here, but a quick google search showed the article and the author were full of complete BS.

I did - and I don't even know what to think. Is there a classification beyond radical environmental socialist? If so she must be the new leader.

After registering with I-Fish a few years ago It didn't take me long to realize their 'orientation'. I suspect most of them fall under the 'Professional Sports(person)' category. You know, they belong to all the various 'animal' sports clubs and attend the dinner/meetings. This is the place for hunters who believe the only guns necessary are high end sporting rifles/shotguns and anything auto or black has 'No place in the sporting world' (direct quote)

Is this the one you are talking about? Amazing that she has over 43,000 posts!!!!

Hi, my name is Ruth and I am a non-hunter. Notice that specific nomenclature, it is important. I am a member of a very large group of individuals. Actually the largest part of society. A hundred-fold the size of hunters and anti-hunters combined.

A lot of us pay attention and we vote. We are a powerful group of people. As a member of that powerful group I would like to tell you how to use this powerful tool. Don't tick us off. Don't pander, don't condescend.

Explain why you believe what you do. Don't tell me to trust you because I don't now and likely never will. However, I am swayed by a rational, viable, logical, truthful argument. I can and will support what I am not necessarily 100% on board with.

I promise/guarantee you that if you choose to tick us off, pander, or condescend we will become anti-hunters. Pay particular attention to that nomenclature. It is very important.

even catch & release can be damaging.
It is and I am not going to followup to any arguments but I have personally seen many fish that have been released go belly up. Catch and release should fall under 'harassing wildlife' and be outlawed just as the archery practice of 'Blunting' deer became many years ago.

I used to own a marina in the midwest on a lake famous for its largemouth bass fishing. In fact, I used to have a guide's license and do a bit of guiding. A lot of what Ruth and her friends post on iFish is uninformed BS. We used to host tournaments run by BASS and Mid-America Bass Fishing Assn. We hosted tournaments with as many as 600 boats (1200 contestants). When weighing in the fish, participants got extra points for "live" fish and all "live" fish were released back into the water right there at the marina. The following Monday I would count the dead fish floating belly up around the docks. It was not a huge percentage of the fish released, but it was significant.

Stuffed shirts mostly. I have met a few that were very good decent folks, but their few between. The elitist such as Ruth are the bane of the site, you either agree with them or get labeled, I prefer the label and wear it proudly. Oregonhunter5 hit the fly fisher thing on the head.

How about since anyone who uses bait is kicked off of sections of rivers or entire rivers such the Deschutes, the Salmon in the Sandy drainage, the entire upper Sandy and now the upper Clackamas and the Metolius, with many thanks to the elitists, they be restricted to fishing only those chosen rivers on a separately purchased tag that forces them into their own little clicks? I mean realistically that's what thieve done to other fisherman, excluded whole fishery's to those methods only. How would that suggestion go over on that site?
I can hear the screams of segregation and foul play already. It would be interesting just to stir the pot though.:shy:

UPDATED - 1/3/2013: As many ifish members already know, the AUP asks members to avoid certain topics that have proven over time to be divisive. These topics include the 2nd amendment, politics and religion among others. This is not new and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the ifish staff. These are simply topics that are rarely discussed without lines eventually being crossed, names being called, feelings getting hurt and members alerting us to issues so we ask that they not be discussed here, again this is not new.

Recent tragedies resulted in an increase of members who wanted to discuss the 2nd amendment anyway but as they often do, most of those threads also eventually devolved into bickering matches and scores of member alerts per day. Going forward we would appreciate it if members would continue to adhere to the AUP and refrain from initiating gun rights-related discussion. ifish is not about divisive discussion. It's about sharing stories, learning new methods and making new friends. We appreciate your efforts in helping us keep it that way.

I almost forgot. A few years ago, Queen Jenny (the queen of ifish) wished everyone a Merry Christmas. My post saying "lets not forget about Jewish folks, Muslim folks, the devil worshipers, then plain garden variety athiests and the myraid of others who don't celebrate Christmas " was taken down by one of the mods, STGrule (the self-proclaimed resident cat herder). I got put into timoeout when I pointed out Queen Jenny's post was in violation of her own AUP.

Important? I don't consider veiled threats to be of any importance at all. Ruth has a slightly inflated opinion of herself and her "powers". I was going to tell her so myself, but my account appears to be locked out from posting over there. I hadn't been there in years until just now. I'd tell them to delete my account if I really cared, but it's not worth the effort.

I am a active member at Ifish and think I will be for many years. I don't discuss politics or 2nd Amendment stuff. I think of it as a fishing forum and nothing else. I share stories and reports. We have plenty of bad eggs over there as well as many hollier than thou attitudes. I have been a member here for awhile now but I have not posted much and I have seen the same here. Every forum is the same.
